Fork extensions are invaluable when you need to lift long or large objects with a forklift truck. Fork extension types:
- Loop style fork extensions are simple to attach to forks. Simply place the loop over the existing fork, hold the fork extension at a 45 degree angle and slide over.
- Pin-style fork extensions attach securely to the fork truck using pins, to prevent the fork extensions sliding off.
- High strength fork extensions are made of 3/16” steel and are lighter than standard fork extensions, making them easier to handle.
- Round fork extensions and triangular fork extensions are designed for handling rolls of material in safety. The shape of the fork extensions ensures that rolls cannot fall off during transit.
- Forged forks replace the regular fork truck forks instead of being installed over existing forks. These forged forks can be used to change the fork length, to replace damaged forks, or as an extra pair in an emergency.
Fork extensions are available in a wide range of lengths, from 48” fork extensions through 96” fork extensions all the way up to 120” fork extensions. You must take care to choose the right length for your fork truck – forklift fork extensions must be no longer than 150% of the existing fork length.
