Dock Equipment & Ramps Ramps & Wheel Risers Wheel Risers
Wheel risers are designed to raise truck trailers to be closer to loading dock height for compliance with national OSHA regulations. The extra height given by loading dock wheel risers means that forklift trucks can enter and exit trailers without having to negotiate a large height difference. At HOF Equipment Company, we stock truck wheel risers which add an extra 6” to 12” to the trailer height, depending on the model. Choose from standard wheel riser widths of 18” or 24” to suit the type of trailer most used. For Semi-Trailers, it is best to use the 24” wide wheel risers in order to ensure there is enough space for the tires.
Types of wheel risers
- Steel wheel risers are hardwearing and great value for money. Steel wheel risers come standard with fork pockets, making them easy to position. Additionally, you can order a wheel riser caddy which enables a single worker to move and position the risers. A central pickup loop for a fork truck is another convenient option which allows you to position two trailer wheel risers at the same time.
- Aluminum wheel risers are lightweight and corrosion resistant. Adding a single wheel allows a worker to position aluminum wheel risers with a minimum of effort. Caddies and central pickup loops are also available for aluminum wheel risers.
The loading dock wheel risers we offer are extremely versatile. These portable wheel risers can be bolted to the ground to become a permanent solution for raising trailers. If you need a way to raise trailer height in order to ensure maximum safety while loading and unloading, wheel risers are a perfect solution.
